"As the sun dipped down below the mountains, and the chill of night crept into his open-air shop, Uncle showed no signs of taking rest from repairing this Triumph, with decades of tools watching him work."

"I had the privilege to meet this 100-year-old man nicknamed Simon. It was unbelievable how healthy and joyful he looked who sits at a café his great-grandson runs and greets people everyday. I couldn’t help but give him a big warm hug. Born in 1914, it was interesting to know that he is one of the first generation Christian converts in this region when a Baptist missionary planted the first church in mid 1900s. I wish I knew the local language, would have loved to hear some of his incredible life stories."

"Meet my friend, Amit. He is 9 years old and his hobbies include: smoking, working at his father’s local shop, and teaching “goras” (white foreigners) how to say inappropriate words in Hindi. Today we sat together, read the Bible in Hindi, sang worship songs, rapped popular Hindi hip-hop songs, and talked for several hours (along with 10 of his other close friends) about girls, Jesus, and music. They taught me how to rap a “Yo Yo Honey Singh” song (famous Indian rapper), and I taught them to sing “How He Loves” by John Mark McMillan."

"David invited a few boys to climb on his shoulders. Only one boy dared to climb on a stranger’s shoulders to the awe of others. A few seconds after this picture was taken, the young boy actually stood straight and gazed into the heavens. This was a great lesson and reminder on trust."

"Back in the village, this Nepali Bushman inspects a new wooden cabinet. During our 5-hour expedition into the forest, I admired the numerous subtleties of his navigation & bush-craft. He carried nothing besides a small, sharp sickle."

"During our staff week in a houseboat on a serene lake, one of the highlights was taking a relaxing ride on one these colorful wooden rowboats called ‘shikara’. It was fascinating to see how they used them for various uses- fishing, transportation, homes, floating markets, and joy rides. Abdul came by our houseboat daily asking if we needed a ride and sometimes he floated around for a chat."
