Project status updates
September 28, 2011
Our 8199 project team for the GSCC Bhopal-HTC stopped by Lucknow to have a look at progress at the HTC construction there. The unfinished HTC building on the outskirts of Lucknow continues to be used to facilitate Good Shepherd training programs in the ground floor spaces. Things have been difficult of late for GSCC as the project contractor recently passed away and they are trying to complete the second level by direct supervision of the work, so the work has been proceeding slowly in the last 6 months. They plan to engage a new contractor to finish the upper level of the HTC. – MJC

From GSCC: "We are so glad that we are close to finish our first phase of building in Lucknow. A new class of students has already started this month in our office which will hopefully move to the training center next month." ~ M. Parmar, OM Lucknow, 6 Sept, 2010
"Deeply appreciate all that you have done for us. I will ask our team to send you some pictures. Due to several court cases by neighbors, the whole project was delayed and we are presently able to do the first phase of main building only, minus workshops. We aim to continue to finish first phase and move on to second phase as soon as this is over." ~ M. Parmar, OM Lucknow, 6 Oct, 2010

Project Scope
Operation Mobilisation was begun in the early 1950s and has been operating in India for many years. Through its Good Shepherd Community Church (GSCC) ministries, OM has been serving and empowering the poor – focused on reaching unreached people groups in India. A critical need to support the expansion of this work is to provide holistic training to the teachers, evangelists and leaders being developed in the ministry. The need identified is for both vocational training and spiritual leadership training.
The proposed ministry center project is comprised of two functions: to train a core group of 30 students a term enrolled in classes and to invite members from the local and surrounding communities as well as those from the network of Good Shepherd Community Churches for seminars, practical teachings and workshops.
If you have a few weeks this summer to offer your design skills, sweat and love, please consider joining our design team in North India!
