Needs
- Architect - conceptual design of Kings and Queens School education facilities, consultation on existing facilities
- Civil Engineer - conceptual design of water distribution and waste water management solutions to accommodate masterplan
- Project Sponsor – help subsidize the cost of eMi² operating this project on a non-profit basis with a one-time donation of US$300.
Project Scope
The Kings and Queens School was established in 1997 to provide for the educational needs of the children of rural Christian workers. Typically, quality educational opportunities are not available in these remote locations and these workers often do not have the financial resources to send their children to neighboring towns and cities for school. The School started with three children and three staff members but now serves over 237 children with 34 full time staff. Currently situated on five acres of land, The School is functioning with a permanent building for dorms, but the classrooms are all operating out of temporary structures.
In order to continue in the development of their work, Kings and Queens School has set the following as priorities for development: 1. Conceptual design plan for a new educational block, 2. Site master plan for further facility development, 3. Evaluation of existing and master plan for future water supply and distribution facilities.
eMi2 has been requested by the Kings and Queens School leadership to assist them in planning the continued development of the campus. The team will visit the project site in Arrakonam to develop a Conceptual Design for the purpose. The project team will assemble in Chennai and will travel to the project area by rail. Join our team as we venture into rural India during the best time of year to visit!
