Project Scope
Operation Mobilisation was begun in the early 1950s and has been operating in India for many years. Through its Good Shepherd Community Church (GSCC) ministries, OM has been serving and empowering the poor – focused on reaching unreached people groups in India. A critical need to support the expansion of this work is to provide holistic training to the teachers, evangelists and leaders being developed in the ministry. The need identified is for both vocational training and spiritual leadership training.
In 2008, GSCC / OM requested eMi² for assistance in planning the development of a property outside Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh for this purpose. That planning work for a Ministry Training Centre was completed and construction work is currently underway on the site for the first phase of the facilities. Now, GSCC / OM have again requested eMi² for assistance in developing another site in Pune, Maharashtra for the same purpose, in which the facilities planned for the Lucknow campus would also be developed on a different property in Pune.
As such, this team will utilize the 2008 programme / facility designs developed by eMi² and appropriately adjust them for incorporation on the new site in Pune so as to develop a masterplan. This programme of development is oriented toward trainee groups of 100 along with capacity on the site for short mass gatherings. This project trip will be based out of Mumbai, but will also include an optional pre-trip leg in which we will visit the Lucknow site to review progress and note any adjustments advisable for the 2008 design. Come and be a part of this continuing partnership with OM and support this work-in-progress – I look forward to hearing from you soon!
