Project Scope
In 1996 EMI visited a small village in Southern Nepal to help a church establish a water system that would serve the local community. The response from that project was astounding as many of the people were blessed with this new resource. Since that time, the church has seen threefold growth which has been attributed to the love and kindness of those who have served. Once again the church has asked eMi² to bring a team of design professionals to plan a water system that will serve over 12,500 people in Padampokhari Nepal. Please consider putting your skills to use as we serve some of the world's least reached people. Learn More...
In order to best serve the people in the area, the church has set the following priorities for development of the water system: 1. Land survey of the water distribution pipe run & other sites related to the distribution system, 2. A conceptual agricultural plan for irrigation and crop selection, 3. A conceptual civil engineering design of the water distribution system including, pipe design, pump station design and a water distribution management plan. 4. A Geotechnical Engineering evaluation of soils for a reservoir and for water tank foundation stability.
The eMi² team will visit the project site in Padampokhari to develop a functional map of the land and engineering conceptual designs. The project team will assemble in Kathmandu, the capitol city of Nepal, and will travel to the project site by automobile. After the trip, we will head to the eMi² office in New Delhi to begin the project wrap-up. This post-trip Project+ segment is also an option for volunteers. Join our team as we venture into rural Southern Nepal and use your unique skills to serve the people of this Nation.
